Scholars tell us the word gospel means good news.  It is almost a factoid that to have good news you must have bad news.  I'll share the bad news with you only if you'll let me share the good news with you, also.

The BAD news is you, and I, are not perfect.  I know, I hate to shock you like that, but you and I are not quite right.  In fact, we're pretty stinky if you get down to it.  We can't obey the traffic laws much less anything else.  In fact, we can't even keep ten little ol' commandments with any consistency. 

Yea, I know.  You haven't killed any body lately.  Neither have I.  We won't talk about what I wanted to do to that tailgater last night!  :>) 

When you and I acknowledge our sin, our inability to live up to God's standards, we get burdened with a load of guilt.  A HEAVY load of guilt.  What if we choose to not acknowledge our sin?  It's still there.  It doesn't go away.  We can whistle in the dark. 

Well, we don't have to carry that load of sin and guilt around. 

The GOOD news is God loves us, right where we are and wants to us to get to know Him better.  He sent Jesus to remove that load from us.  Jesus paid the debt we owe God for loving us when we were, and still are, unlovable.  Click here for "the rest of the story."

The wearable gospel is the clothing, gifts and jewelry that we share with our friends.  These items are designed to present the good news of Jesus, His first coming, His death and payment for our sin and His resurrection and second coming that gives us hope and life in the world to come.  Furthermore, they present in very clear terms Jesus' second coming and kingdom rule.

In our current American society, many believe they have the "right" to not just ignore your opinion but to deny you the right to your own opinion.  Try quietly sharing your faith with everyone that sees you.  A shirt, gift or piece of jewelry may be effective in situations where your voice may be drowned out by the noise of the crowd.
